"And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father." Colossians 3:17
We desire that our members develop both spiritually and physically—sharing God's word and maintaining their bodies as temples of God. The Recreation Ministry operates the Family Life Center and coordinates recreation activities for the church. Our main goal is to provide a place where the entire family can enjoy a fun-filled time together in a positive atmosphere and grow, not only physically, but spiritually to the glory of God.
Click on the topics below for more information about the Family Life Center.

Keep track of your miles at our Family Life Center Desk and when you reach 100 miles, we’ll take your picture to put on our “Walk Board.”
Stop by the Information Desk in the Family Life Center and pick up a tally counter (used to track laps) and get started. There is no time like the present!!

Have you joined yet?
The Fall is a great time of beginning (or beginning again) as the School Year resumes.
If you are a member of LBC, you are invited to join the Family Life Center today! The cost for membership is $5! You read that correctly. And that's a one-time fee, not a monthly cost. Five dollars gets you a key card that checks you in at our information desk.
In order to work out in our weight room, you must be a member or the guest of a member (guest and member must be together).
Are you visiting our church, trying to decide if this is the home for you? Great! Check out our Family Life Center free of charge for three months. Enjoy all the benefits the Family Life Center has to offer while making that important decision about your church home.
To receive a key card or a visitor’s card, drop by our Information Desk and fill out a form for us. We really look forward to seeing you! |

|
frequently asked questions
The following are commonly asked questions. For the complete FLC Policies and Procedures, CLICK HERE. |
|
| Do I have to be a member of Lexington Baptist Church to be able to use the Family Life Center? |
Yes and no. You do have to be a member of the Family Life Center or the guest* of a member to work out in the weight/fitness room or use the gym. The walking track is open during regular hours for members and non-members. Everyone must sign in at the Reception Desk to use the walking track.
In order to become a member of the Family Life Center, you MUST be a member of Lexington Baptist Church. We offer memberships to visitors who are attending LBC but have not “officially” joined the church. Visitor memberships are free, but expire three months after they have been issued.
*Guests can come and use the facility, but MUST be accompanied by a member AT ALL TIMES. |
|
| Can I walk on the track during scheduled events? |
Unfortunately, some events will occur in the gym of the FLC which will find walkers on the track distracting. The Recreation Ministry reserves the right to decide if the track needs to be closed during a programmed event. Typically, the track is open anytime during the FLC’s normal hours of operation. It is closed on Sundays and Wednesday evenings. |
|
| Why can’t I take my baby stroller on the track? |
Strollers can be somewhat bulky and with a crowded track, it may be difficult to maneuver around them. |
|
| Who is allowed to work out in the weight- fitness room? |
• Ages 16 and up can use the cardio and weight equipment unsupervised.
• Ages 13-15 must be supervised (by a parent or guardian) to use cardio and weight equipment.
• Ages 12 and under are not permitted in the weight/fitness room. |
|
| Why are we not allowed to play ping pong, foosball, or pool? |
Membership to the Family Life Center grants you access to the weight/fitness room, walking track, and the gymnasium, all found on the first floor (except the walking track). The second floor of the FLC is reserved for Student Ministry. It is typically an unsupervised area except when student ministry activities are planned, therefore producing an unsafe environment.. |
