Upward Basketball and Cheerleading Program
Upward Basketball & Cheerleading has ended for the 2007-2008 Season. Thank you everyone who participated. Look for information about the 2008-2009 Season in September, 2008!
Upward basketball and cheerleading is for elementary-aged students, grades 1-6. Upward is more than a sports program. It seeks to “fulfill God’s vision that He planned long ago by promoting:
1.) Salvation – To share the love of Jesus Christ with everyone involved in Upward
2.) Character – To help every child grow as Jesus did – spiritually, physically, mentally, and socially
3.) Self-Esteem – To help every child grow in their understanding and enjoyment of sports.”
WHO CAN PLAY OR CHEER?
Teams for basketball will be broken up into the following groupings: |

Upward news for parents
A huge thanks to everyone...
who helped with Upward basketball and cheerleading this year. We had 260 children, grades 1 - 6, registered as players and cheerleaders. This number translated into 30 basketball teams and seven cheerleading squads. We had approximately 80 coaches working with these children weekly, teaching fundamentals and investing their lives into them. Game days added an additional 25+ people who volunteered as referees, score clock operators, and devotion leaders.
We look forward to another season in Fall 2008. We will continue our partnership with Lexington United Methodist Church and St. Stephens Lutheran. Look for registration forms this September!
